Dear Filmmaker,

We at the Metropolitan Film School are pleased to invite you to a Digital Filmmaking Workshop, which we are hosting exclusively for University Film Societies from all across the country this summer.

The aim of the day is to bring Film Societies together in a non-competitive environment and offer you a chance to participate in a day of workshops led by industry professionals on Digital Film Production, Post-Production, Distribution and Exhibition at the famous Ealing Studios in West London. Throughout the day you will also have plenty of opportunity to meet and work with fellow filmmakers from other societies and an evening drinks and screening session will allow you to watch some of each others short films and chat about your own societies and discuss any upcoming projects.

This event is to be held on Wednesday 4 July 2007 at our Ealing Studios facilities. The workshop will run from 11am - 5pm with the evening drinks and screening session following on from 5pm - 7pm. For those of you travelling a long distance we are able to assist you in arranging accommodation in Ealing at a very cheap price.

A provisional programme of events for the day is as follows:

10.30-11.30am:             Arrive at Ealing and meet and chat with fellow Film Societies over drinks and snacks.

5pm - 7pm:                   Screenings: University Film Societies
This part of the day will be very much down to you. Each society will have the opportunity to speak about your film society and, if you would like to, screen a couple of your own student short films. There will be drinks and snacks provided and it will be an informal and hopefully very enjoyable end to a brilliant day.

We really hope that you will be able to join us for this brilliant event. It will be a great chance to really get to know other film

societies and expand your film network, as well as an invaluable opportunity to partake in some exclusive workshops and meet

filmmaking professionals working at the heart of the British digital filmmaking industry.

If you are interested in coming to this event please send me an email at becky@metfilm.co.uk or call me on 020 8280 9116.
