Luton Movie Makers Weekly Newsletter 30 Aug 03 In the Newsletter this Week: * Next Meeting * Last Meeting * Movie Making Course at Lewsey Farm LC * New Videos for Library * Provisional Programme Next Meeting ------------ At this Thursday's meeting (4 Sep 03) we will be "Checking out Camcorder Features". The idea is for you to bring along your camcorder, together with its instruction manual (if possible) and we will investigate all the features, how they work, how they compare with other camcorders and how useful they are. Where possible, each feature and effect will be displayed on the televideo. The meeting will be at our usual venue, Sundon Park Community Centre this Thursday, at 7.30pm. Last Meeting ------------ At the meeting we had a Group Session:- 5-Minute Favourites Several members brought along scenes from their favourite films and we played and discussed them. Also we showed our film "Global Warming", which we made the previous week. It is an imaginary political satire about exploitation of global warming by politicians. The cast included:- * Victoria Hayford as Prime Minister (who did the lion's share of the talking as you might expect when playing Margaret Thatcher) * Donald Stuart as the Minister for Industry, * Scott Bailey as the Minister for Education and Science * Wayne Johnson as another (unspecified) Minister After a LOT of editing, it came out quite well. Its funny how one hour of acting results in fifteen minutes of raw video and finished as five minutes of final video. Movie Making Course at Lewsey Farm LC ------------------------------------- Those interested in enrolling for our free course, "Opportunities in Movie Making", starting in September, and which is intended for unemployed 18 to 25 year-olds should contact Ty-ni Myers at the Lewsey Farm Learning Centre (Tel: Luton 691991).
