Luton Movie Makers Newsletter 19 March 06 BIAFF (British International Amateur Film Festival) Don't forget to book your tickets to see the top amateur films at Bedford Moat House, recently renamed The Park Inn, in two weeks time, from 30 Mar to 2 Apr. Scott's film, the short version of Warriors of Hastings, which won a Silver Plus award will be shown on the Saturday, 1 April (no Joke!). Filme Lab Several of us (Paul, Scott, Dapo, Vicky) attended the Introductory workshop of Filme Lab yesterday. This is an interesting new development which will support the growth of film making in this area. The speakers were from Filmstock/Zerobalance and E-Learning Centre. Several of the people there also expressed interest in joining Luton Movie Makers. A Possible Western It would be a first for our club to produce a "Western", and would give us a big leap ahead of other clubs in our region. On Thursday we discussed the possibility and looked at some of the 3-hours or more of film taken at Sioux City in the Canary Islands on a recent holiday. Using the blue-screen techniques that Scott and Frank have been perfecting in "Invaders", "Greed" and "Tomorrow's off", it seems possible to "super-impose" our own story over the "western" backgrounds. We also thought about ways of making it fit the "Wrong Number"-theme for next year's triangle competition.
